Eczema and Psoriasis

Doctors believe eczema is linked to allergic disease such as hay fever and asthma, it's thought to be an overactive response by the body's immune system to an irritant. It is this response that causes the symptoms of eczema and Psoriasis. It can be mild, moderate, or severe. Generally, people with eczema suffer from dry, sensitive skin.

The key is that symptoms are not the enemy, but simply the body's attempt to overcome the source of the problem. Vitamin and mineral deficiency play a big role in eczema. Food Is Your Best Medicine. Provide the best quality foods to nourish every cell in the body. Natural healing authorities will assure you that you are on the right path. The literature on the incidence of nutrient deficiencies provides ample scientific backing to the legitimacy of understanding their relationship to eczema.

Believe in the body's healing ability. The human body is the miracle and if it has the nutrients the body needs it can do amazing things.

Since our skin is our body’s largest organ and first line of defense, it is vital that we feed it the best nutrition possible. Although many skin conditions and disorders are genetic and incurable as of yet, there is ongoing research into the benefits of supplementing with specific nutrients.

For example, the Pycnogenol in Reliv Now® and has been found to benefit skin health in several ways. It is anti-inflammatory, increases blood micro-circulation to the skin, protects collagen and elastin proteins in the skin.

Over 12 weeks, the addition of Pycnogenol was shown to:
• decrease the area of skin affected by psoriasis in all body regions
• reduce redness, skin hardening and flaking of body area affected by psoriasis.
• increase content of water and oil/lipids in all areas of the skin.
• reduce need for standard management drugs.
• reduce oxidative stress.

According to a study at the University of Illinois, lunasin works to protect cells from Eczema and Psoriasis by reducing the negative effects of oxidative stress and by regulating the body’s inflammatory response. In this way lunasin can offer long-term cell protection when consumed regularly. Also, essential vitamins and minerals such as A, Biotin, C, E, selenium.
